Highlights of Summer 2009!

Summer brings its fair share of wild life to Ridge Park Estates! This picture represents a funny story! Jason called me from his car as he was leaving the house. He says to me," Honey, don't let this kids outside for a while because a Moose just literally walked in front of my car! You know how dangerous they are so just keep everyone inside!" My question for him was WHERE was it?! He says it was at the cul-de-sac in front of our house. Well.... we have 10 acres people!!!!! It can't be that threatening......SO I say something like,"OK Babe, no problem thanks for the warning." and then hang up! I quickly yell to the kids to come outside with me and see the moose! By this time the moose is in the neighbors driveway, but again we both have 10 acres, there is ALOT of space between us! So the kids and I are in the front yard talking and looking at the moose, when it turns and looks at us. So I think to myself, "Good.....it saw us and so it will definitely avoid us!" Well, that was not the case! It proceeded to slowly walk toward us until we finally were running in the house screaming! These pictures show the moose drinking in our pond just off our front driveway and we are safely in the dining room taking the picture!!!!

Baseball starts each April and ends in June! Both Zack and Brock really enjoy playing! It is a major commitment for Jason and I trying to get two kids to games and practices week in and out, but it is really all worth it!
This was Zacks first year in AAA and he did really well! Unfortunately, his team didn't do so well. They were a pretty young team but made some good friendships and had lots of fun! (Even Jason helped coach for the first time!)

This was also the first year that Brock played Majors! He did very well and really enjoyed the challenge of playing more experienced teams, and grew alot technically! His team only lost one game all season, and were League CHAMPIONS!

Cub Scout camp was next on the agenda! It was really fun to go and be with Zack and to hang out with my Webelos!

What would summer be without a trip to an amusement park? The boys earned free tickets to Silverwood Theme Park for doing lots of reading during the school year! Grandma Jo came along, and even though there was a little rain....we still had a Blast!

Grandma Jo feeling like a kid again!

Grandma Jo went "Hard Core" and rode one of the BIG Coasters with Brock!! It is hard to see but I definitely got proof, they are the second couple from the front of the coaster. Grandma looks like she is getting some serious whiplash!!!

At the end of June, Jason and I headed down to San Diego for a much needed getaway! Day one was great and Day two was great(all posted pics are of day two!) until the end of Day two when Jason pulled a muscle in his back!!! Needless to say, we still had a good time and enjoyed the rest of the time visiting Mom and Dad in Brawley!

Then we celebrated the 4th of July with our good friends the Gardner-Britton Family!!

Here is Jason helping the kids light fireworks.
They were lighting them on our future sports court, so we weren't close to any of our precious pine trees!
Eve and Matt Gardner.....Oh so sweet!!
I just noticed....Jason and I have matching "Man Brows"..LOL!

This was taken the night before the Kelly family moved to Utah! My boys were SO SAD, to see their cousins go but we enjoyed every minute of the 3 years we got to live close to them (2 years were spent only three doors down from them!) We miss them dearly! Cheney hasn't been the same without their family!
At the end of July we had the pleasure of getting visits from both Grandma Billie and Uncle Brent! What a fun time we had!
These were taken at the Childrens Museum in Spokane, we have annual passes here and visit often!

Downtown Spokane, I love this time of year!!! What handsome boys you have Jeannie!

Jason worked really hard over the summer to get a little playground area together for the kids in the yard. It turned out so nice and the kids pretty much live out there!

What would Summer be without a visit to a waterpark? We went and spent a day in Moses Lake with Eve, Brianna and MacKenna!

It was SO nice to have Grandma and Papa stay for awhile this summer! They even brought up their new boat to leave at their new house! We finished off the summer with a couple of trips to the lake and made some fun memories!

Some really loved the "Hotdog".........
..........and well, others didn't!!!!

Can't wait till next year!
We made one last trip to Silverwood theme park so Dad could go with us this time!

It was a great way to finish the Summer!!!!
